Workflows that run while you sleep

Chain AI actions into multi-step automations. New intake triggers eligibility screening, document collection, form filling and calendar scheduling — all without manual handoff.

How Automation works

  1. 1Trigger event fires
  2. 2AI executes step sequence
  3. 3Approval gate if high-risk

Turn the process you already run into a workflow

Every firm runs the same handful of sequences — new inquiry to signed engagement letter, signed matter to open file, closing to invoice. Automation writes each one down once: what starts it, the steps that follow, and the rules that decide when a person has to look at it. From then on the sequence runs the same way every time, whether the matter arrives at 9am on a Tuesday or 6pm on a Saturday.

Trigger on work that already happens

A new intake form, an uploaded document, a signed engagement letter, a calendar event, an email that matches a rule, or a status change on a matter.

Branch on your own rules

Route by practice area, case value, jurisdiction, client type, or whether the conflict check cleared — without writing a line of code.

Pause for approval where it matters

Anything that leaves the firm — a letter, a filing, an invoice — waits for the person you named before it goes out.

Hand off between people and AI employees

Marcus routes each step to the AI employee that owns it, then to the timekeeper who signs off, so nothing sits waiting in an inbox.

Workflows firms put live first

Start with the sequences that already eat billable hours. Each one is a visual sequence of steps, conditions and approval gates — not a script someone has to maintain.

Intake to open file

Conflict check, qualification scoring, engagement letter drafted, intake questionnaire sent — then the matter opens with its folder structure, deadlines and owner already assigned.

Document to decision

Upload runs OCR and entity extraction, links the file to the matter, updates Atlas's risk and completeness scores, and opens a task when something the matter needs is missing.

Deadline to filing

Escalation fires at 30, 14, 7, 3 and 1 days out, the filing draft is prepared, forms are pre-filled, and approval is requested from the responsible attorney.

Month end to paid

Billable activity is detected, invoices are drafted with UTBMS codes, reviewed by the billing owner, sent, and followed up on until payment lands.

Every run leaves a trail

Each execution records what triggered it, every step taken, any approval given, and how long it took. Runs can be paused, edited and resumed from the point of failure, so a changed rule never means rebuilding the workflow. If a step fails — a missing signature, an unreachable integration — the run stops, the owner is notified, and nothing continues half-applied.
